like all things in life, there is a catch, and in this case it's called the terms of service. i don't ask much, and since my designs aren't much,
you should be able to comply fully.
if you decide to use one of my designs, all i ask is that you give credit where credit is due. i did put some work into most of the things i designed,
so a simple link back or acknowledgment to .doofushead. or brandonphoenix
or this guy named brandon who i know or don't know that designed this template or layout. i really don't care as long as my name or site is mentioned.
(mentioned as in giving the web address, with or without linkage, i.e. "www.brandonphoenix.com" or "brandonphoenix.com" or "doofushead.brandonphoenix.com.")
now, there are a couple of templates where i went ahead and put in an acknowledgment to me, as an image, etc. in this case, you do not need to link back to me
or really even mention me, as long as this image acknowledgment is visible. i try to best to not throw my name all over the design like a tommy hilfiger shirt
or something. i try to keep it small and off to the side or something and not detract from the overall layout or design.
now, if you were to pay for my service, things could be different. i really don't want to sell away any of my ideas or layouts or designs, just for the fact that
i could re-use them, recycle them, when my creativity is low. you know, make them different colors, etc, but it's still really the same design. i can understand
wanting to have a unique design that no one else has, and if you're willing to pay me enough, i could sign over a design to you where you'd have full ownership.
you wouldn't have to link back or acknowledge me if you didn't want to, but it would be greatly appreciated. as for any other work, if you pay me, we'll work something
out. it'll be a case by case basis, but don't be surprised if i have something for you to sign.
